Found it!

But there's a danger in loving somebody too much,
and it's sad when you know it's your heart you can't trust.
There's a reason why people don't stay where they are.
Baby, sometimes, love just aint enough.
- Love just aint enough by Patty Smyth
"For now Dylan seems content to explore the world on his own. His little hands feeling along the kitchen wall, Dylan makes his way to the hall and to the gold knob on the closet door. He fumbles with this new discovery and hearing the click of the latch, pulls the door open. Giggles. He pushes it closed. Click. More laughs. For 15 minutes, he opens and shuts, hysterical laughter cutting through his darkness. Watching from the kitchen, Karen smiles as she realises her little bear cub is opening his own doors and becoming a little less helpless every day."
Extracted from ' Out of The Darkness' Reader's Digest Asia, January 2008.
A heart-wrenching true life account. Dylan is born with microphthalmia(absent eyes).

Movie Review

This a one movie I remember fondly watching in my younger days. The chipmunks will never fail to appeal with their cute charm and hillarious actions, if you love em back then, you'll still adore them in this movie. There's nothing groundbreaking about this movie, Jason Lee takes on the role of David but does the signature 'Alvin' scream rather disappointing. Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney play Alvin, Simon and Theodore respectively. Note that, Jesse McCartney! Thumbs up for being able to voice Theodore with almost 90% genuity. The storyline is very typical which resulted in my occasional yawns. Really really flat, even for the climax of the story.Leaves you virtually nothing to anticipate. Soundtracks are catchy since they used the original ones. 'Witch Doctor' is undoubted the crowd favourite.

Poo!

The PD Mini Zoo is nothing but full of shit, seriously, shit shit, yeah that shit.

Therefore I came to conclude that goat's shit smells the worst and undeniably wins the gold medal. Cows get the silver medal and horses, you're gonna have to settle with bronze. Chickens, you guys are forgivable, your teeny weeny poo don't produce much of a stench. Donkeys, I did not stumble upon yours, but I was hoping you would go 'nghee-hor nghee-hor'.

note:-
*this is a competition i wouldnt mind NOT getting gold*

Well at least the laughter, pool, margarita and 'mai tai' made up for it. Don't you just love the holidays?

Do The Math

so what's the figure difference between 41 and 42 ?

if your answer is 1, you're right. it shows that you can count and it also shows that you've not sat for your undang exam.

if you did, your answer would be RM50

damn it.told you it wasnt a piece of cake. well, i should never complain, 41 aint that bad for someone who hardly studied for it.

Monday, December 17, 2007

i'm sitting for undang tomorrow.

now don't start telling me it's a piece of cake, i don't buy that sort of advice, it's bull.

i think i've studied enough, i can tell that the orange sign with a black figure holding a hoe means that a dude is digging up a graveyard in front, and if the distance is stated, that's how deep he's gonna dig.

ain't it?

ok, being lame is definitely not a remedy for curing pre-exam stress. wonder what I'll become before SPM.

" Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories? Those of us who fall in love alone. We are the victims of a one sided affair, we are the cursed of the loved ones, we are the unloved ones, the handicapped without the advance of a parking space."

" Because you're hoping you're wrong and everytime she does something that tells you she's no good, you would ignore it and everytime she comes through and surprises you, she wins you over and you lose that argument with yourself that she's not for you."

" What I'm trying to say is that I understand the feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how that it can actually ache in places that you didn't know you had inside you. And it doesn't matter whether how many new haircuts you get or jumps you joy or how many glasses of Chardonnay you drink, you still go to bed every night going over every detail wondering what you did wrong or how you could've misunderstood. And how in the hell for that brief moment you could think you were that happy. And sometimes you can even convince yourself that she'll see the light and show up at your door. And after all that, however long all that may be, you'll go somewhere new and you'll meet people that make you feel worthwhile again. Little pieces of your soul will finally come back and all that fuzzy stuff and years of being with the life you've wasted, that will eventually begin to fade"

" I've got a life to start living, and you're not in it. I think what I've got is something slightly resembling to...gumption"

Sorry about that, it's just the lines of Kate Winslet from "The Holiday" which were really profound. I liked how the lines were so heartfelt and chosen to show the character moving on from a one sided love. It really depicts the phases someone who is in an affair like this has to go through.Genius.

ANTM Cycle 9

I can't believe Saleisha won.
Never in my wildest thoughts that she would advance that far.
Maybe it's just that something the judges see that I don't. Believe me, this is the first time I don't feel that believable feeling in the winner.

Well, we all have our say in these competitions, be it ANTM or American Idol. It's personal.

Movie Review

Frankly, I'm not surprised by the figures this movie raked in as a blockbuster. Typical as it may seem, well, it wouldn't be called a fairytale story if it wasn't typical. But this movie has an edge, it's witty but not cheesy and the producers deserve the recognition for being able to incorporate notably different parts of famous Disney fairytales into it's beginning. Everyone is bored of watching fairytales like Snow White, too 1970s....i guess this is a modern day twist. I mean if you get bored of watching the prince and princess riding into the sun living happily ever after, this movie has got reality check. Being a fairytale, of course there will be a happy ending, but maybe opening up a boutique as a happy ending isn't that unrealistic. Riding into the sun on a white stallion? Sorry, can't relate. Another plus point, very very good soundtrack. "Ever Ever After" is a great listen and almost everyone I know of who watched the movie loved it, why of course, it's Carrie Underwood! "So Close" by John McLaughlin is very suitable, very romantic.

Cast evaluation :-

Amy Adams- Although not a very sought after actress in Hollywood, I'll have to agree that she delivered well in this movie. Ethics and mannerism like a princess, not to mention the naivety too. She did bring the image of a princess accompanied by really good facial expressions. A commendable effort.

Patrick Dempsey- Dr. McDreamy. Who else to pick if not everyone's favourite doctor. After being named the 2nd sexiest man alive, I'm pretty sure he is up to play this role. I think he should be acknowledged because probably half of that they earn is probably due to his presence. Undoubtedly he has good acting but I don't buy his performance in this movie. Mediocre, average, normal, so-so, what else? Stick with the medicine thing, doctor.

James Marsden- Now he is the true star of the movie. He has definitely proved his versatility here. From 'X-Men' to 'Hairspray' and now this? I think his fairytale naivety in the movie was amazing. His performance is rather convincing. He does have an ability to tickle the funnybone, something I never knew he had.

Susan Sarandon- Evil witch of the story, malevolent. Fullstop. Pretty much nothing to comment about her. Honestly, there isn't anything much to say considering she was her animated self at the beginning, when she finally came from that manhole, she turns herself into a dragon after maybe 15 minutes of the movie? But I thought she did a fairly good job at being the dragon, probably better than Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty =D

Movie Review

Call me stoneage but this movie is awesome. I personally like how smooth the storyline is. Eventhough it jumps from Cameron Diaz's scene to Kate Winslet's, it does not confuse at all. Very neat. The lines are not cheesy at all for a love story, as a matter of fact, they're meaningful and quite intellectual. Comedy wise, well, you would certainly end up with a few mild laughters, but nothing to make you fall off your seat.
Cast evaluation:-
Cameron Diaz- Well she is Hollywood's royalty known for her versatility to bring different roles. But i think she didn't shine as great as Kate Winslet in this movie, sorry to say. However, thumbs up for her 'trying to cry' efforts.

Kate Winslet-I thought she was amazing in this movie. Loved the British accent. Her various facial expressions in this movie was portrayed very well. Her lines are very genuine and really touches you. Good job!

Jude Law-I think Jude Law is a good actor for his sense of humour is one of a kind. He doesn't have to do silly things to make comedy. He isn't really the funny type but somehow he manages to make people laugh with his ethics. His role here is really different from 'Alfie' and it's nice to see a different side of him.

Jack Black- I've never been a fan of Jack Black. He's a very good comedian with stellar acting skills. But it is something about his character in this movie that you find it hard to relate to. It's not bad but not convincing enough. Maybe it's because he can't shed that funnyman image that causes the supposedly touching parts seem less moving. Nonetheless, towards the end, he kind of got the hang of it and delivered a mediocre acceptable performance.

A-

I like reviewing movies. Maybe i should be a critic next time, free movies sound good eh? I think I'll write up on Enchanted next.

Big

Undang Lecture was damn boring!
I swear the lecturer has some kind of fondness or fetish for 'harimaus', yes tigers.

"Jalan raya adalah seperti mulut harimau, bahaya!"
*dont you agree, xian? he repeated harimau quite a few times during the start of the talk.*

and what made it harder to pay attention is that every sentence or two he completes, he smiles and grins so cheekishly I can hardly restrain from laughing.

????

My driving instructor is really strict on her students but surprisingly she breaks all the rules for ethical driving. She even stops on the yellow box! If I ever tried that, I think I'll end up with a knock on my temples with her fists. Yes, she's big. Big on the outside and a big personality.

p/s: Nigel isnt that hard to pronounce is it? dear lecturer, 'nee-gel'???, oh cmon."

Random Things

There's a cute blonde boy wearing a Santa hat beside my table.

The table here is too low for me*backache*

I'm looking at Bandar Utama College and found that it really looks like Stadhuys in Melacca.

The Iced Vanilla Brewed Coffee here tastes like 'kopi peng' from a kopitiam. Honestly, I can make better coffee than this. But the Java Chip makes all the difference.

Out of the 20+ people here, i think only one uses a Mac. No wonder Bill Gates is so rich.

Sis and Stef are being fickle and using the Magic 8 Ball to help them decide, occasionally Stef asks me how, but i'm equally fickle.

They're talking about booze night, i like the sound of that.

The pretty lady beside our table is eavesdropping.

I should be revitalized after some coffee but weirdly I can hardly keep my eyes open.

I'm dressed very slack and I think I look good dressed down.

I'm feeling comfy.

Happy 100th!

I'm dedicating this post to Zoe Tan.

Hope you had a sweet tasteful sixteenth birthday!Sorry i couldn't make it for the celebration, but my 1ooth post should be something worthwhile and i'm giving it to you.

Haha, kidding.

On a totally unrelated issue, i like my new blog header's pic. Snapped it while on vacation at Melaka.

The Price of Beauty

is darn painful.

i can't believe i actually went for a facial session.
Mum talked me into it, and yeah i got talked into it.
Well, it's something you've to do when you no longer have baby-smooth skin but only pimples. Well, amidst the pain of pinching those nasty pimples, the beautician was pretty =D. And the face massage was good.

Fair Chicks

i never got why fairs and exhibitions have chicks wearing skimpy outfits

1) Pretty, yes. Attractive, not. Maybe all the customers they end up attracting are the 'ah peks' and sick paedophiles.
2) Cute voice, yes. Loud and clear voice, no. They seem more like they're selling sex instead of the products when they whisper*psst psst* to the passerbys. Those with loud voice, it's back to number 1.
3) Make up, yes.Flawless complexion, no. Cause of the flaws? Too much make up! Cmon, you dont want to announce to the world that you're part of the circus.

Fair chicks tend to have an unfair package.

The Newbie

Zak Shen Yeong Kitchen.

How does the name sound for a restaurant?

Haha, no. That's the name of my newborn cousin. He's of mixed ethnicity, chinese and Brit. And 99% of these babies turn out very good looking. Just don't end up in the unfortunate 1%.

Welcome to the family, Zak!

Phew!

ok, im clean now.
spent the day painting the library walls and got my body infected with beige-coloured chicken pox.
the cool part is i hardly paint, so being the 'jakun', i was eager to paint, was kinda fun. don't believe it when they say fun times pass very quickly, my 'fun' lasted 4 hours, 4 dreadful and tedious hours.

went to the Celcom Centre to run some errands, yes i've to talk to their personnels in my labourer- like self. Haha, they must be amazed that i could converse in English so fluently. Did not try to lock eyes with the people around, just to avoid peculiar stares.

next, grocery shopping with Mum at Giant. those shoppers there must be thinking i'm the Ahmad or the housekeeper. i'm the tuan muda la!

so, moral of the story, get a change of clothes unless if you can endure a whole day being the centre of unwanted attention and not to mention a sneezy nose, achoo! =D

just give it time,
time heals,
time will,
here's to you.

Put into Words

I'm glad i never lived next to the water
So I could never get used to the beach
And I'm glad I never grew up on a mountain
To figure out how high the world could reach
I love the miles between me and the city
Where I quietly imagine every street
And I'm glad I'm only picturing the moment
I'm glad she never fell in love with me

For some the world's a treasure to discover
And your scenery should never stay the same
And they're trading in their dreams for
Explanations
All in an attempt to entertain
But I love the miles between me and the city
Where I quietly imagine every street
And I'm glad I'm only picturing the moment
I'm glad she never fell in love with me

The trick of love is to never let it find you
It's easy to get over missing out
I know the how's and whens,
but now and then,
She's all I think about

I wonder how it feels to be famous
But wonder is as far as I will go
Because I'd probably lose myself in all the Pictures
And end up being someone I don't know.
So it's probably best I stay in Indiana
Just dreaming of the world as it should be
Where every day is a battle to convince myself
I'm glad she never fell in love with me

indiana-jon mclaughlin
yeah never.

jon mclaughlin is one amazing artist.i'm not a fan of male singers but this is an exception.and this is the type of song i was hoping to bump into. "human" is also another good one.
as much as i dont want to,
i have to,
and the cycle goes on again.
ride with me if you will....
because i don't want to fall alone,
only knowing that the past replays itself
